With only 4 ingredients this recipe is simple, affordable and delicious.
Yes, this recipe does require an ice cream maker. I brought mine second hand as a teenager and I have used it countless times since then. I 100% recommend having and ice cream maker in your home if you, or anyone else in your home love frozen desserts! This recipe is a summer staple in our house.

Ingredients
Water – Whether it is from a tap, from a bottle, or ? Whatever water you usually use for drinking is what you will use here.
Canned peaches– for this recipe you will want to use peaches that are canned with the syrup instead of with juice or other lower sugar alternative. This is because the sugars in the syrup will help stabilize your sorbet. This in turn makes your peach sorbet less icy and more melty.
Sugar – A little sugar to turn your water into a simple syrup. A good sorbet requires a lot of sugar to achieve its consistency and flavour.
Lemon juice – a little bit of tartness to balance out all of the sweet . Use fresh lemon juice if you have it. Otherwise bottled lemon juice works well too.

How do you make a peach sorbet?
Simple
- Prefreeze your ice cream maker – I always freeze mine for at least 24 hours even if the instructions say otherwise.
- Heat your sugar and water in a medium sized sauce pan. Add the can of peaches and your lemon juice.
- Blend until smooth
- Cool fully in the fridge – you want the mixture to be as cold as possible before you churn it for the best results.
- Churn in your ice cream maker
- Enjoy immediately or scoop into a plastic container and store in the freezer

Serving and storage
Once you have made this its yours to enjoy however you like best.
Straight from the ice cream maker, this sorbet will be quite soft and a little bit like a sweet slushy. This is my kids favourite way to have it! And I don’t blame them
If you want pop it into a freezer safe container and leave it in the freezer for a couple of hours, then it will firm up and become scoopable. it will also become slightly less sweet when it is fully frozen.
To store sorbet simply place it into and air tight, freezable container and put it into your freezer. It should last 2-3 months. It could last longer but it will get firmer the longer you leave it.
