Trio of flatbreads
These flatbreads are so quick and easy to make and do not require any yeast! Soft, fluffy and easy to fold. Make them in plain, cracked pepper or dill and garlic

What makes this recipe great
Easy – This is one of the most simple bread recipes that you can find. It really only has 4 simple steps. Mix it all together, let it the dough rest, roll it out and pan fry!
Affordable – With the price of breads these days, it is so hard to find something nice to accompany a meal that doesn’t cost a lot. These flatbreads do not use any expensive ingredients. Every ingredient you need for the base recipe is a pantry staple. Meaning that you now have the ability to have delicious buttery flatbreads whenever you feel like it. No last minute trips to the supermarket necessary.
Quick – This recipe is quick and low effort, half of the time needed is simply rest time. While the dough rests is the perfect time to prepare any accompanying dishes or to simply have a cuppa and read a couple of chapters of your favourite book. If you are in a rush you can reduce or even skip the resting time. The rest time helps relax the dough to make the rolling easier and assists the baking powder with its rising. I have made these both ways and without the rest time these are still delicious.
Adaptable – I love to load these flatbreads with flavour! Allongside the recipe for plain flatbreads I have added the additions for two of my favourite flavour combos. Feel free to swap out these for anything spices and herbs that you love. Also with the simplicity of the main ingredients it is very easy to substitute out the flour/ dairy if you have allergies
Kid friendly – These are a great option for putting together a family when you have fussy kids. Making a meal that the kids hate and need a bread on the side, make these! You can put their favourite sandwich fillings in them to make wraps or top with sauce and cheese and bake for 10 minutes to make individual pizzas. It is an easy way to cater to everyone in the house without feeling like you are cooking a whole different meal for each person.

Serving ideas
With curries – these are the perfect accompaniment when having a rich flavoursome curry. Tear off peaces of freshly baked flatbread to dip it in and enjoy.
Wraps- Place your favourite sandwich fillers into the centre of each flatbread. Roll up the sides and take to school/work for lunch.
Dippers – Cut each flatbread into 6 wedges and oven bake for 10 minutes to crisp up (or leave fresh and soft if you prefer). Serve alongside salsa, hummus, cream cheese, pesto or any other toppings that you like.
With salad – Load your favourite salad onto these when they are freshly baked. Tear pieces off or roll it into a wrap. I love to pair my Dill-icious chickpea salad with dill and garlic flatbread.
Pizza – These make a great pizza base. Topp however you like with sauce, toppings and cheese. Bake in a hot over for 10 minutes.
Sweet – There is nothing stopping you from turning these into a sweet treat. Take plain freshly baked plain flatbreads and drizzle over some honey or cinnamon sugar.

You can prep this dough up to a day ahead of time. Simply make the dough up to the resting point and store in the fridge until you are ready to roll it out and cook.
To store these, place them in an airtight container or snaplock bag. Store out of the sunlight for 2-3 days. To freeze, seal tin a snaplock bag or wrap well with cling film and place in the freezer. Use within 2 month to maintain soft fluffyness.

- Lightly flour your work surface and roll each dough ball out thinly. They should have roughly a 15cm diameter
- Heat a small flat frying pan or skillet to a medium high heat. Pan fry the flat breads for about minute on each side. Your want them to be cooked through and have golden brown patches.
