Simple Cheese Crackers

These homemade crackers are like crunchy clouds of flaky, cheesy goodness. Make your own simple cheese crackers for yourself with this simple 4 ingredient recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 75 g cold butter cubed
  • 150 g grated cheese
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees fan bake and line 2 cooking trays with baking paper.
  2. Place your flour, butter and cheese into a food processor. Pulse the mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  3. Add the milk and blend until the mixture has combined into a rough, crumbly dough.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a clean bench top use your hands to form the dough into a smooth ball.
  5. Press the dough between 2 baking sheets and roll out thinly using a rolling pin. The dough should be about 5mm thick.
  6. Use a pizza cutter, knife or small cookie cutter to cut your rolled dough into small pieces. I have made 2.5cm squares for mine.
  7. Spread the cut dough pieces out onto your lined baking tray. Bake for 10 minutes or until the crackers are puffed up and golden.

Notes

Store in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
Add in 1-2 teaspoons of herbs, spices etc for a different flavor option.
You can freeze the cracker dough once it has been cut out. Cook the frozen crackers (without defrosting) for 13 minutes.
