Method
- Combine the yeast, warm water and honey in a medium sized bowl. Mix well and leave your 5 minutes to allow the yeast to activate and become bubbly.
- Add the melted butter and 1 1/2 cup of your flour. Mix well for 1-2 minutes. The mixture will be smooth and elastic when it is mixed enough.
- Add in your remaining flour, garlic, salt, jalapenos and cheese and mix together until well combined and the dough has formed into a rough ball.
- Place a little oil on your hands and knead the dough for 1-2 minutes. Keep working the dough until it forms a smooth ball.
- Oil a clean bowl before placing your dough it the center. Cover the surface of the dough with a little oil and make deep indents into the dough using your fingertips
- Set dough in a warm place to rise for 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- When your dough has risen, split it into 8 evenly sized pieces. The sections should be about 110g each. Form each section into a smooth bun. Place your buns onto a lined baking tray with about 2cm gap between them. Leave them in a warm place to rise for an hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 170 degrees, fan bake.
- Once your buns have risen, brush the surface of the buns with a little bit of milk and then sprinkle a little bit of cheese on top.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until your buns are golden and cooked through.
