Ingredients
Pasta – This recipe will work with both dry or fresh pasta. Choose something that will work with your Halloween theme. Spaghetti is a classic option, bows can look like bats and shells could be called eyes or ears. Cook your pasta according to the instructions on the package.
Spinach – This is where the green color will come from. Fresh will work best.
Cream cheese – Cream cheese will make your pasta sauce really rich and creamy without any work at all. You can both full fat or low fat cream cheese.
Oil – This will help your sauce to the pasta. Olive oil is best but other cooking oils like canola or vegetable oil will work too.
Vegetable stock – Use a dry vegetable stock to give your pasta a flavor boost. Use one OXO cube or a teaspoon of powdered vegetable stock.
Garlic, herbs, salt and pepper – Simple seasonings to flavor your pasta sauce

How to decorate your spooky green pasta
- For a simple witches brew, serve your green pasta in a cute cauldron or individual cauldron mugs. Invite guests to sprinkle over any additional toppings to customize their witches concoctions.
- Make your pasta look poisoned with a simple skull on top cut out from a slice of cheese. Cut your cheese into slices, then use a sharp knife or cookie cutter to cut out your skull before laying it in the center of your cooked pasta.
- Add chopped vegetables. Carrot slices can be carved into little pumpkins, olives can become eyes or spiders and mushrooms make perfect little skulls. These roasted potato skulls look so good alongside this pasta too. If you are feeling brave you can add in the most scary vegetable of all …. the BROCCOLI. (At least that is what my kids think, I think broccoli goes great in this green pasta!)
- For a meat based toppings, you have plenty of options too. Meatballs can be topped with circles of cheese to become eyeballs. Add mini sausages to create a fingers in boogers pasta. You could even cover it in slices of cooked bacon or ham to be a creepy peeling skin pasta! For something a little more on the elevated side, these saucy slow cooker ribs are definitely a great option!
